Once RSVP is confirmed, you will receive the virtual event details and the ingredients list to participate in making your special brew of Grog!
You are invited to an entertaining virtual gathering of Knots and Knowledge, hosted by LAMI deckhand, Chris Halsted – an avid sailor, rock climber, and trick roper, who will be guiding you through the tying of knots of great importance, interest, and beauty. Follow along to a Grog-making demonstration to set the mood, then join fellow LAMI Members in lessons, games, and challenges with the goal of learning to tie, understand, and create knots that are useful, functional, safe, and even entertaining!
All participants will need at least 2 pieces of line:
1) at least 4-5 ft. long
2) at least 12-15 ft. long
Rope may be natural or synthetic, though a brightly colored braided nylon rope shows up rather nicely on a computer screen. The evening’s plan does not cover whipping and splicing of rope ends, or, in the case of synthetic rope, the melting of rope ends with a flame, so this should be done beforehand.
