Free Harbor Boat Tours

Free The Port of Los Angeles will host free harbor boat tours event on Saturday, May 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of World Trade Week. The public tours are one-hour in length and will depart every thirty minutes from both Banning’s Landing Community Center in Wilmington and the Los Angeles Maritime Museum in San Pedro. No

“The Port is proud to offer harbor boat tours, which offer the public a unique opportunity to learn about the logistics and operations of North America’s premier gateway for international commerce” said Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka. “It’s also a great way to see the progress that has been made along the LA Waterfront.”
The narrated harbor tours provide passengers with close-up views of America’s Port® in action, including container ships, the Vincent Thomas Bridge and a waterside view of the LA Waterfront.
Port visitors and community members of all ages are welcome. Back by popular demand this year, the “Waves ‘n Woofs” boat tours will offer special pet-friendly tours for owners of well-behaved dogs on a leash departing at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. from both locations.
The Los Angeles Maritime Museum is located at 600 Sampson Way, Berth 84, in San Pedro. Banning’s Landing Community Center is located at 100 E. Water St. in Wilmington. Boats at both locations are wheelchair accessible and have restrooms on board. The hour-long tours offer seating on a first-come, first-served basis, with refreshments available for purchase once aboard the tour boat. Light jackets and sunscreen are recommended, and don’t forget your camera.
Additional attractions for visitors to explore along the LA Waterfront include the Gateway Plaza Fanfare Fountains, the Battleship IOWA, the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, the S.S. Lane Victory and the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. CRAFTED at the Port of LA offers a unique handmade craft shopping experience and is adjacent to Brouwerij West with freshly brewed spirits and gourmet food trucks.
For more than 90 years, World Trade Week – an initiative of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce – has been the nation’s most extensive and unique program of its kind dedicated to educating the public about the importance and benefits of global trade to the local and U.S. economy. Related events and programs are held throughout Southern California every year in May, coinciding with World Trade Month.
