Annual Lego Shipbuilding Contest
What is a Lego Shipbuilding Contest?
The contest is a free and fun event where visitors build ships using bricks supplied by the museum and their imaginations. Prizes are awarded in different age groups. There is also a non-competitive section where visitors build kits representing famous US Naval Ships.
Is this for all ages?
Yes, all ages and abilities are welcome
Do I have to sign up in advance?
No registration is required
Is there an admission charge?
No, the contest and admission to the museum are both free on April 26.
What if more than one person works on the same model?
If more than one person works on the same model, the model will be judged in the category matching the age of the OLDEST builder.
Do I have to be present to win a prize?
No, the prizes (gift cards) will be mailed to the winners.
What happens to the completed models?
The completed models remain the property of the museum. Eventually, they will be taken apart so the bricks can be used again next year.
