Shakespeare’s love letter about love letters where a young king and his companions swear off love to focus on intellectual pursuits. When a lovely princess and her ladies visit the palace, those lofty oaths immediately prove difficult to keep. It’s a veritable love match smorgasbord!

One by one the boys give up their vows of abstinence to pursue their loves, resulting in four different couples with four different exploits that we get to follow. And on top of that, there’s the rivalry between Don Armado and Costard for the hand of Jacquenetta. Shakespeare has never set so many love matches spinning before in a play, so make sure you keep track of who’s pairing up with whom.
